To tackle the global shortage of computing power, the UK government allocates £100 million ($130 million) for purchasing AI chips to establish an AI Research Resource by 2024.
While the funding is intended to address the shortfall, it might not fully meet the ambitions, potentially requiring additional funding sources.
Reports emphasize the challenge businesses face in deploying AI due to limited resources, underlining the significance of ample computing power for AI advancement.
Akkio, a no-code AI company based in Cambridge, Massachusetts, successfully concluded its Series A funding round, securing a total investment of $15 million.
Contributions came from Bain Capital Ventures (BCV) and Pandome, Inc. These funds will fuel the acceleration of Akkio's AI platform commercialization.
Known for its user-friendly interface and affordability, the platform aids clients in data interaction, real-time dashboard creation, and the application of machine learning for predictive analytics.
Microsoft, known for its collaboration with OpenAI in language understanding AI, is expanding its AI efforts through a new partnership with Databricks.
Databricks, positioned as an alternative to OpenAI, focuses on software enabling customers to build AI applications for their businesses.
This move diversifies Microsoft's AI strategies and could introduce competition in the AI landscape.
