🏯 AI Education in Japan
Inflection AI, a company committed to creating a 'personal AI for everyone,' has developed an AI supercomputer powered by 22,000 NVIDIA H100 AI GPUs to enhance its Inflection-1 model.
Despite the high demand and scarcity of H100 GPUs, Inflection AI managed to acquire 22,000 units, each currently valued at approximately $40,000.
NVIDIA, a potential investor in Inflection AI, may have facilitated the company's access to such a large number of GPUs.
The supercomputer will comprise 700 four-node racks of Intel Xeon CPUs and will utilize an impressive 31 Mega-Watts of power.
Inflection AI has raised $1.5 billion and is currently valued at $4 billion.
After an impressive growth spurt from zero to over 1.5 billion visits between November 2022 and March 2023, ChatGPT's expansion has started to slow down.
Despite new features like plugins and web browsing being introduced in May, these additions did not trigger a significant surge in growth.
Visits to OpenAI’s developer site saw a modest increase of 3.1 percent from May to June.
This slowdown in growth is seen as a natural phase in the AI's development and provides an opportunity to prepare for future advancements.
Japan's Education Ministry has released guidelines for testing AI in elementary, junior high, and high schools.
The guidelines stipulate that students of all ages can use AI under teacher supervision, personal data should not be fed into AI, and teachers can use false information generated by AI to teach students about fact-checking.
These guidelines may be revised based on future feedback.
This move shows Japan's commitment to AI and could open up new business opportunities in the education sector.
