GeologicAI, established in 2013, specializes in "rock analytics for modern mining."
Their advanced technology can analyze rock samples and identify valuable resources deep beneath the Earth's surface.
With the world facing a mineral supply shortage driven by the demand for clean energy technologies, GeologicAI's robots will aid in mining lithium and cobalt, critical for facilitating the clean energy transition.
Two separate teams of AI engineers have developed AI-based weather forecasting systems, namely Pangu-Weather and NowcastNet, which demonstrate comparable accuracy to existing prediction models.
One team, composed of engineers from Huawei Cloud in China, developed Pangu-Weather, a system focused on forecasting weather a week in advance.
The second team, consisting of engineers from Tsinghua University in China, along with colleagues from the China Meteorological Administration and the University of California, Berkeley, created NowcastNet, a weather forecasting system.
The startup installs high-definition, remote-controllable cameras in high-risk areas, with AI monitoring the footage.
The AI-powered technology enables firefighters to reach the scene several hours earlier compared to non-system scenarios.
Recently, the company provided early warnings for the Kutch Road Fire near Kutch Mountain in Yamhill County, Oregon.
The funding round, led by Valor Equity Partners, welcomed strategic investors T-Mobile Ventures and Salesforce.
